San Faustino Maggiore
Via S. Faustino 72

The church, which keeps the relics of Saints Faustino e Giovita city patron saints and was erected already at the end of the VIth century, rebuilt in the XIIth century and several times restored since the complete rebuilding in the XVIth century. The beauty marble arcade is rich of sculptures and relief by Sante Calegari il Vecchio. Inside it’s fully decorated with frescos of Brescia school (1600), except the presbytery, repainted around the 1754 by Giandomenico Tiepolo, sun of the great famous fresco-painter, with composition of monumental gradiosity about the patron saints. Behind the high altar there’s the white and black marble baroque sarcophagus with relics of the two saints. In the second altar on the right we mark the Crib, one of the best painting by Lattanzio Gambara.
