Sant’Afra
Corso Magenta 68

The original XVth century church was rebuilt like it looks today during the second half of the XVIIIth century . The inside is decorated with lively and cheerful frescos by Grassi, Ferrari and Cattaneo. It keeps interesting paintings of the XVIIIth century of Brescia school. On the first altar on the left the “Martirio di S. Afra (St. Afra’s Martyrdom) a painting worthy of note by Paolo Veronese (1570/1580) in which is putting in evidence the saint’s figure. Noteworthy the high altar with Calegari’s sculptures (1750) and the marble tomb with St. Paterio’s bones.
